Igaugural Fly Fishing Conclave - January 27, 2007

The first meeting of the Council for Florida fly fishers was held on Saturday, January 27 at the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame in Dania, Florida. Over 250 people attended this first ever program which was open to the general public as well as FFF members.

Excellent casting programs were performed by Dusty Sprague - "An Introduction to Fly Fishing"; Jon Cave - "Casting Techniques"; Dan LaGace - "Casting Longer Lines," and Dr. Gordie - "The Casting Certification Program."

A very special thank you to Joan Wulff who presented a great program called "Ease and Accuracy with a Fly Rod". Her two-handed demonstration and accompanying “story” will always remain a fond memory for all those who were lucky enough to be there.

Many thanks to the excellent instruction provided by the talented fly casting instructors, fly tyers and fishing experts who made this such 1st Conclave such a great success.

Thanks also to the dedicated staff who put it all together and managed the event. Organizers included, FFF Florida Council President, Pete Greenan and 1st VP - Bill Gunn. The Membership Booth was managed by J.C. Moricoli and Raffles & Fund Raising was coordinated by Joanna and Roger Williams. Our gracious receptionists, Ron Whiteley and Judy Tegge, did a wonderful job.
