Fly tying will be a featured activity at the Florida Council FFF Conclave, and the Council has invited some of the most skilled tyers in Florida and the south east to demonstrate their tying methods and the patterns they specialize in tying and fishing. Approximately two dozen tyers will be tying throughout the day both Friday and Saturday of the Conclave. The tyers have been invited not only because of their skills but the variety of fly patterns they will demonstrate as well. Patterns will range from some of the classic historic wet and dry typically thought of as trout patterns that are especially effective for Florida’s bream and bass to many saltwater patterns and very large patterns that will be tied for billfish. You will even see Atlantic salmon patterns, other patterns for warm water fish and showy patterns for tarpon. You will find a tyer who will be able to answer just about any question you may have that will help you in your own tying and fishing. So don’t just come to watch, bring your questions and don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn something from each of the featured fly tyers for application to your own tying and fishing applications.
